20-YEAR-OLD ROXBURY MAN WHO WAS REPORTED MISSING ON MARCH 12, 2024, WAS FOUND DEAD

ROXBURY, NJ.- The Body of a 20-Year-Old Man who was found Dead at Sunset Lake on March 19, 2024, has been positively Identified as the Man who was Reported Missing on March 12, 2024, Morris County Authorities reported.
According to Morris County Prosecutor Robert J. Carroll, Altariq Hickson, 20, of Roxbury, New Jersey, was last seen at his Home in Roxbury on March 6, 2024. Mr. Hickson was Reported Missing on March 12, 2024. The Roxbury Township Police launched an Investigation into Mr. Hickson’s Whereabouts and a Search of The Surrounding Area was initiated.
Mr. Hickson’s personal belongings were discovered on a Mine Hill Beach. A Search of The Area by The Morris County Sheriff’s K-9 Unit, and The Morris County Office of Emergency Management. An Underwater Search of Sunset Lake by Divers of The New Jersey State Police resulted in The Recovery of a Body on March 19, 2024, believed to be that of Mr. Hickson.
The Morris County Medical Examiner’s Office performed an Autopsy and Confirmed the Identity of The Body as Mr. Hickson. The Medical Examiner’s Office determined the Cause of Death to be Drowning and the Manner of Death Accidental.
The Investigation remains active and ongoing. The nature surrounding Mr. Hickson’s Death does not appear to be suspicious at this time.
