MAYS LANDING, NJ.- Atlantic County Prosecutor William E. Reynolds reported, that on Monday, June 17, 2024, Lisa Monzo, 59, formerly of Galloway Township, New Jersey was found guilty by an Atlantic County Superior Court Judge following a bench trial on five counts of fourth-degree Animal Cruelty.

Following testimony and evidence presented at trial, The Court found that Monzo failed to provide proper care for her pets, a dog, two cats, and two birds.

According to authorities, on November 4, 2022, members of the Atlantic County Sheriff’s Office and the Galloway Township Police Department located the animals at Monzo’s residence, after receiving a report of animal neglect.

Upon arrival, Police Officers located the animals living in conditions that were described by Officers as “deplorable” with no fresh water, edible food, or clean and habitable living conditions. All the animals were removed from Monzo’s residence, medically assessed, and placed in rehabilitative and foster-living homes.

Sentencing in the matter has been scheduled for sometime in September 2024, at which time Monzo will face a potential of up to 18 months in New Jersey State Prison.
