Two Paterson Men Were Hospitalized After Being Struck By Gunfire Early Friday Morning

PATERSON, NJ.- Passaic County authorities are continuing their investigation into the circumstances surrounding a shooting that occurred during the early morning hours in Paterson, New Jersey, leaving two Paterson men hospitalized from gunshot wounds.

     According to Passaic County Prosecutor Camelia M. Valdes, on Friday, August 2, 2024, just around 3:45 a.m., members of the Paterson Police Department responded to reports of shots being fired in the area of Carroll Street and Godwin Avenue in the City of Paterson.

     Upon arrival, Police Officers found a 40-year-old Paterson, New Jersey man suffering from a non-life-threatening gunshot wound. The man was immediately transported to Saint Joseph’s University Medical Center for treatment. While on the scene, the Paterson Police Department was notified that a 33-year-old Paterson, New Jersey, man had arrived at the Medical Center seeking treatment for a non-life-threatening gunshot wound.

     During the initial investigation, Police Officers determined that both men were shot at that location and found evidence of a shooting crime scene.

     The investigation remains active and ongoing. No arrests have been made as Detectives continue the search for a suspect. More information may become available once released by authorities.
