PATERSON, NJ.- A 38-year-old Paterson, New Jersey man, employed as a Paterson Police Officer, has been indicted on charges in connection with a domestic violence incident that occurred on December 23, 2023, in the City of Paterson.
According to Passaic County Prosecutor Camelia M. Valdes, in July 2024, a grand jury sitting in Passaic County, New Jersey, returned an indictment against Alberto Sanabria, 38, charging him with one count of third-degree Terroristic Threats; one count of fourth-degree Cyber Harassment; and one count of fourth-degree Stalking.
Following the return of the indictment, Sanabria was processed on the charges and released on a summons complaint. Sanabria is scheduled to be arraigned on the indictment on August 19, 2024, in Passaic County Superior Court before the Honorable Barbara Buono Stanton, J.S.C.
Sanabria’s employment status with the Paterson Police Department was not reported. Due to the nature of the charges, it is possible that Sanabria has been suspended pending the resolution of the indictment.
If convicted on all the charges, Sanabria will face up to five years in New Jersey State Prison.
