Bergen County Authorities Actively Investigating The Shooting Death Of A Woman That Occurred This Morning

TEANECK, NJ.- Bergen County Prosecutor Mark Musella reported, Detectives are continuing their investigation into the circumstances surrounding the shooting death of a woman that occurred this morning in Teaneck, New Jersey.

     On Thursday, August 15, 2024, shortly before 8:30 a.m., members of the Teaneck Police Department responded to a report of a shooting on Hickory Street in Teaneck, New Jersey.

     Upon arrival, Police Officers found a 26-year-old woman inside a residence suffering from a gunshot wound. The woman was immediately transported to an area hospital, where she was pronounced deceased.

     Unconfirmed reports are that a suspect has been taken into custody at the scene. 

     There is no immediate danger to the public at this time. The investigation remains active and ongoing and is being conducted by Detectives of the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office Major Crimes Unit and the Teaneck Police Department, with the assistance of the Bergen County Sheriff’s Department and mutual aid from the Bogota Police Department.
