Two Paterson Men Were Hospitalized After Being Struck By Gunfire Monday Night In The City Of Paterson

PATERSON, NJ.- Passaic County Authorities are actively investigating a shooting that occurred early last night after gunfire erupted in the City of Paterson, leaving two men hospitalized from non-life threatening gunshot wounds.
According to Passaic County Prosecutor Camelia M. Valdes, on Monday, August 19, 2024, just shortly before 7:30 p.m., members of the Paterson Police Department responded to multiple 911 Emergency Calls reporting a shooting with injuries in the area of Essex and Madison Streets in the City of Paterson.
Two Men Injured
Upon arrival, Police Officers found a 19-year-old man and a 26-year-old man, both from Paterson, New Jersey, suffering from gunshot wounds. Both men were immediately transported to Saint Joseph’s University Medical Center for treatment of their injuries. The condition of both men was unknown at this time.
During the initial investigation, evidence of a shooting crime scene was located at the location. The investigation remains active and ongoing. No arrests have been made at this time as Detectives are continuing to investigate the circumstances surrounding the events that led up to the gunfire.
