A 4-Year-Old Child Remains Hospitalized After Being Stabbed Multiple Times Yesterday Afternoon

PATERSON, NJ.- The Passaic County Prosecutor’s Office and the Paterson Police Department are continuing the investigation into the circumstances surrounding the tragic stabbing of a 4-year-old child that occurred late Friday afternoon inside a Paterson, New Jersey residence.
According to Passaic County Prosecutor Camelia M. Valdes, on Friday, August 23, 2024, just shortly after 4:00 p.m., members of the Paterson Police Department responded to a 911 Emergency Call reporting a child had been stabbed in the area of East 24th Street and 10th Avenue in the City of Paterson.
Upon arrival, Police Officers found a 4-year-old girl who had been stabbed multiple times inside a home. The girl was immediately transported to Saint Joseph’s University Medical Center in Paterson for treatment and has been listed in stable condition.
The investigation remains active and ongoing. Although no arrests or charges have been filed at this time, Police were looking for the child’s aunt as a person of interest.
