79-Year-Old Wexford, Pennsylvania Man Indicted On Charges Of Attempting To Send Obscene Material To Minor

PITTSBURGH, PA.- On Thursday, August 22, 2024, U.S. Attorney Eric G. Olshan reported the unsealing of a four-count indictment that was returned by a federal grand jury in the Western District of Pennsylvania against a 79-year-old Wexford, Pennsylvania man for attempted sex crimes involving a minor.
Albert Maximillian Jeremias, 79, of Wexford, has been charged in the indictment with Attempting to Transmit Obscene Material to a Minor; and Attempting to Induce a Minor to Engage in Sexual Activity.
Charges Unsealed In Indictment
According to documents unsealed in the indictment, on multiple occasions between January 2023 and May 2023, Jeremias made contact via internet chats with undercover in the Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, Sante Fe, New Mexico, and Coral Cables, Florida areas, who Jeremias believed were young girls between the ages of 12 and 15.
During the conversations, Jeremias sent pornographic photographs and live livestream images of himself to the undercover agents and requested that the agents posing as children send sexually explicit pictures of themselves to him. He even sent one of the agents a $50 gift card as enticement.
If convicted, Jeremias could face up to 10 years in Federal Prison and a fine of up to $250,000, or both.
