Philadelphia Man Sentenced To 15 Years Federal Prison For Repeated Child Pornography Offenses

Friday, August 30, 2024, 3:00 P.M. ET. 2 Minute Read, By Art Fletcher: Englebrook Independent News,

PHILADELPHIA, PA.- On Wednesday, August 28, 2024, U.S. Attorney Jacqueline C. Romero reported that Christopher Daniels, 34, of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, appeared in U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania and was sentenced by U.S. District Court Judge Juan R. Sanchez to 15 years in federal prison followed by 15 years of supervised release for repeated child pornography offenses.

Daniels was initially charged in August 2023, superseding indictment, and again in March 2024.

A federal jury returned guilty verdicts against Daniels on six counts, including Receiving Child Pornography as a Second-Time Offender; Possession of Child Pornography as a Second-Time offender; Access with Intent to View Child Pornography as a Second-Time Offender; and Failure to Register as a Sex Offender, as required by the Sex Offender Registration and Notification Act.

According To The U.S. Attorney

According to the U.S. Attorney’s Office, Daniels was previously convicted in 2015 of Possession of Child Pornography and served 70 months in federal prison, followed by 10 years of supervised release.

Daniel’s term of supervised release began on January 15, 2021. Under the Sex Offender Registration and Notification Act, he was required to keep his sex offender registration information, including his registered residential address, current. In July 2022, Daniels failed to verify his sex offender registration with the Pennsylvania State Police as required and went into a non-compliant status.

Further, Daniels was also found to be in violation of the terms of his supervised release, and a warrant was issued for his arrest.

Taken Into Custody

On November 3, 2022, the U.S. Marshals Service located and arrested Daniels. During the arrest, FBI Agents executed a court-authorized search warrant for his residence, seizing multiple electronic devices belonging to him. A subsequent forensic examination of the device uncovered thousands of videos and digital images of nude and or sexually explicit children and computer browser searches for child pornography.

“When he got out of prison, Christopher Daniels was given a non-negotiable to-do list,” said U.S. Attorney Romero. “Right at the top: stay away from material depicting the horrific sexual abuse of children, and keep sex offender registry details current. He failed at both, providing himself a continued risk to the community. My office and partners at the FBI will never stop working to protect vulnerable children.”

“Having already served one sentence for exploiting innocent victims, the defendant then continued his heinous criminal behavior,” said Wayne A. Jacobs, Special Agent in Charge of FBI Philadelphia. “This sentencing is a testament to the diligent and unceasing work of the FBI and our law enforcement partners to combat violent crimes against children.”
