Charleston Woman Sentenced To Federal Prison For Drug Distribution

CHARLESTON, W.VA.- U.S. Attorney Will Thompson reported, that on Monday, September 9, 2024, Alexis Nicole Davis, 26, of Charleston, West Virginia, appeared in U.S. District Court for the Southern District of West Virginia and was sentenced by U.S. District Judge Joseph R. Goodwin to 24 months in federal prison followed by three years of supervised release for Possession with Intent to Distribute Fentanyl.
According to documents filed with the court, on June 21, 2024, Davis possessed 10 grams of fentanyl that she intended to be sold at a Charleston gas station. When Davis arrived at the gas station, she recognized the purchaser was a confidential informant, and the transaction did not occur.
After Davis pulled out of the gas station, Police Officers conducted a motor vehicle stop on Davis’ car. During the stop, Police Officers found the 10 grams of fentanyl in her purse. Davis admitted that she possessed the fentanyl and intended to distribute it to other individuals.
Codefendant Sentenced To Prison
Travell Lamar Johnson, 45, of Big Chimney, West Virginia, who was with Davis and participated in the halted sale, had also sold quantities of fentanyl to the confidential informant on three occasions in June 2023.
Johnson was sentenced to 51 months in federal prison, followed by three years of supervised release on August 7, 2024, after pleading guilty to the Distribution of Fentanyl.
U.S. Attorney Will Thompson commended the investigative work of the Charleston Police Department Special Enforcement Unit.
