Detectives Actively Investigating A Fatal Pedestrian Hit & Run In Camden

CAMDEN, NJ.- Detectives of the Camden County Prosecutor’s Office and the Camden County Police Department are actively searching for the driver of a vehicle who struck and killed a 41-year-old woman and then fled the scene Wednesday afternoon in the City of Camden, New Jersey.

     According to Camden County Prosecutor Grace C. MacAulay, on Wednesday, September 25, 2024, just shortly before 3:30 p.m., members of the Camden County Police Department responded to the area of 7th and Tulip Streets after receiving a 911 Emergency Call reporting a pedestrian being struck by a motor vehicle that fled the scene. 

     Upon arrival, Police Officers found a woman, later identified as Carla Mahan, 41, of Camden, New Jersey, suffering from serious injuries. Ms. Mahan was immediately transported to Cooper University Hospital, where she succumbed to her injuries and was tragically pronounced deceased shortly after 4:00 p.m.

Investigation Remains Ongoing

     The investigation remains active and ongoing. No arrests have been made at this time as authorities are continuing their search for the suspect.
