FAYETTEVILLE, AR.- On Thursday, September 26, 2024, Jaylin Williams, 24, of Fayetteville, Arkansas, appeared in U.S. District Court for the Western District of Arkansas and was sentenced by U.S. District Court Judge Timothy L. Brooks to 147 months in federal prison, followed by three years of supervised release for Possession with Intent to Distribute Fentanyl; and Possession of a Firearm in Furtherance of a Drug Trafficking Offense.

According to U.S. Attorney David Clay Fowlkes and documents filed with the court. In October 2023, Detectives with the Fourth Judicial District Drug Task Force executed a court-authorized search warrant and seized over 500 fentanyl pills, a Glock pistol equipped with a machine gun switch conversion device, and a large sum of cash from Williams.

Judge Fowlkes Hears Additional Evidence

During Thursday’s sentencing hearing, Judge Fowlkes heard evidence that just one month prior, Williams fled from the Arkansas State Police on Interstate 49, at times reaching speeds of 120 miles per hour before stopping his vehicle and fleeing on foot. Williams was also unlawfully in possession of a firearm during that pursuit.

Judge Fowlkes also considered evidence during Thursday’s hearing that Williams previously shot at one of his customers during a drug transaction in April of 2022. Williams has been previously convicted in a Washington County robbery in 2019.

The Fourth Judicial District Drug Task Force, the Fayetteville Police Department, the Arkansas State Police, and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco. Firearms and Explosives investigated the case.
