Two Paterson Men Remain Hospitalized Following A Gun Battle Late Last Night

PATERSON, NJ.- Passaic County Authorities are continuing their investigation into the circumstances surrounding what led two Paterson, New Jersey, men to engage in a shootout late last night in the City of Paterson, leaving both men hospitalized, one in critical condition.

     According to Passaic County Prosecutor Camelia M. Valdes, on Saturday, October 5, 2024, shortly after 11:00 p.m., responded to a report that two men had been engaged in a gunfight in the area of Straight Street and Park Avenue in the City of Paterson.

Police Find Men Shot

     Upon arrival, Police Officers found two men, both having sustained gunshot wounds. The first man, a 33-year-old Paterson, New Jersey resident, was struck multiple times, once in the head and several gunshots in his chest and stomach area. The second man, a 28-year-old Paterson, New Jersey resident, sustained non-life-threatening gunshot wounds.

     Both men were immediately transported to Saint Joseph’s University Medical Center for treatment of their injuries. The 33-year-old man remains hospitalized and has been listed in critical condition, and the 28-year-old man also remains hospitalized in stable condition.

Investigation Remains Ongoing

     The investigation remains active and ongoing. No charges have been reported being filed at this time, and more information may become available once the investigation is concluded.
