Lodi Man Charged With Child Pornography Offenses

LODI, NJ.- Following an investigation, an 18-year-old Lodi, New Jersey, man was taken into custody yesterday and jailed after being charged with using the Internet to possess and distribute child sexual abuse material.
According to Bergen County Prosecutor Mark Musella, on Tuesday, October 15, 2024, Detectives of the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office Cyber Crimes Unit executed a court-authorized search warrant at the Lodi residence of Matthew S. Chinchilla, 18, during an internet child pornography investigation.
Chinchilla Used The Internet For Child Pornography
During the investigation, Detectives uncovered that Chincilla utilized the internet to view, download, possess, and distribute digital images depicting nude and sexually explicit prepubescent and pubescent children.
Following the execution of the search warrant, Chinchilla was taken into custody at the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office in Paramus, New Jersey, and formally charged with second-degree Distribution of Child Pornography; and third-degree Possession Of Child Pornography.
Chinchilla was processed on the charges and was remanded to the Bergen County Jail pending future court proceedings in Bergen County Superior Court in Hackensack, New Jersey.
If convicted at trial on the charges, Chinchilla faces up to 10 years in New Jersey State Prison and will be required to register as a sex offender under Megan’s Law registration requirements.
