Paterson Man Hospitalized After Being Struck By Gunfire This Afternoon

PATERSON, NJ.- Detectives are continuing the investigation into the circumstances surrounding a shooting that occurred this afternoon in the City of Paterson after a 28-year-old man arrived at Saint Joseph’s University Medical Center seeking treatment for a gunshot wound.
According to Passaic County Prosecutor Camelia M. Valdez, on Wednesday, October 16, 2024, shortly after 3:00 p.m., members of the Paterson Police Department responded to a 911 Emergency Call reporting shots fired in the area of 12th Avenue and East 22nd Street in the City of Paterson.
Upon arrival, Police Officers were notified that a 28-year-old Paterson, New Jersey, man had arrived at Saint Joseph University Medical Center seeking treatment for a non-life-threatening gunshot wound.
During the initial investigation, Police Officers were able to locate a shooting crime scene, and following interviewing the victim, Police Officers determined the man was shot in the area of 12th Avenue and East 22nd Street.
The investigation remains active and ongoing. No arrests have been made as Detectives continue the search for a suspect.
