North Carolina Man Indicted For Production Of Child Pornography

HARRISBURG, PA.- On Wednesday, October 16, 2024, a Federal Grand Jury for the Middle District of Pennsylvania returned an indictment against Brayan Garcia-Vazquez, 24, of Havelock, North Carolina, charging him with one count of Production of Child Pornography.

     According to U.S. Attorney Gerard M. Karam and charging information unsealed in the indictment, it is alleged that Garcia-Vazquez traveled from North Carolina to Pennsylvania to meet a child and then video-recorded himself on April 5, 2023, engaging in sexual intercourse with a child in Cumberland County, Pennsylvania.

     The U.S. District Court will schedule Garcia-Vazquez to be arraigned on the indictment on a date determined by the court.

Project Safe Childhood

     The case was brought as part of Project Safe Childhood, a nationwide initiative launched in May 2006 by the U.S. Department of Justice to combat the growing epidemic of child sexual exploitation and abuse.
