Erie Man Indicted For Theft Of Supplemental Security Income

ERIE, PA.- U.S. Attorney Eric G. Olshan reported, on Wednesday, October 16, 2024, that a Federal Grand Jury for the Westen District of Pennsylvania returned an indictment charging Gregg Edward Siddons, 64, of Erie, Pennsylvania, with one count of Theft of Government Property.
According to information unsealed in the indictment, it has been alleged that from January 2021 through March 2024, Siddons received around $33,417 in Supplemental Security Income that he was not entitled to because of unreported income he made through an unauthorized and unregistered taxi service.
   Siddons will soon be arraigned on the charge in U.S. District Court for the Western District of Pennsylvania. If convicted, he faces up to 10 years in federal prison, a fine of up to $250,000, or both, and restitution.
