River Edge Man Charged With Internet Child Pornography Offenses

RIVER EDGE, NJ.- Bergen County Prosecutor Mark Musella reported that following an investigation into allegations of online Child Pornography activities, on Friday, October 18, 2024, a 22-year-old River Edge, New Jersey man was taken into custody and jailed after being charged with child pornography offenses.

     On Friday, Detectives of the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office Cyber Crimes Unit executed a court-authorized search warrant at the residence of Andrew C. Baker, 22, of River Edge, New Jersey, during an Internet child sexual abuse material investigation.

     During the investigation, Detectives uncovered and determined that Baker was utilizing the Internet to view, download, possess, distribute, and share digital images depicting nude and sexually explicit prepubescent and pubescent children.

     Accordingly, at the conclusion of the investigation, on Friday, October 18, 2024, Baker was taken into custody at the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office in Paramus, New Jersey, and formally charged with second-degree Distribution of Child Pornography; and third-degree Possession of Child Pornography.

     Following being charged, Baker was processed on the charges and was remanded to the Bergen County Jail pending future court proceedings in Bergen County Superior Court in Hackensack, New Jersey.

“The rules of the court require us to include a statement that states: The charges outlined in this publication are merely accusations, and the defendant and or defendants are presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty beyond reasonable doubt.”
