Lowell Man Arrested & Charged Narcotics Distribution Conspiracy

BOSTON, MA.- On Thursday, October 17, 2024, following the unsealing of a federal indictment, Jorge Manuel “Manny” Huertas, 46, of Lowell, Massachusetts, was taken into custody and charged in connection with his role in a conspiracy to distribute and possess fentanyl and methamphetamine.
A Federal Grand Jury for the District of Massachusetts returned the indictment, charging Huertas with one count of Conspiracy to Possess with Intent to Distribute 40 Grams or More of Fentanyl; and Conspiracy to Possess with Intent to Distribute 50 Grams or More of Methamphetamine.
According To Information Unsealed In The Indictment
According to the charging information unsealed in the indictment, Huertas, along with others, distributed counterfeit oxycodone pills containing fentanyl and counterfeit Adderall pills containing methamphetamine. Following the unsealing of the indictment, on Thursday morning, federal, state, and local law enforcement agencies executed court-authorized search warrants at the residence of Huertas and the residences of his associates.
Huertas made his initial appearance in U.S. Federal District Court in Boston later that day, Thursday, October 17, 2024.
If convicted of the charges, Huertas faces a mandatory minimum of five years and up to 40 years in federal prison, at least four years of supervised release, and a maximum fine of $5,000,000.
