East Orange Man Hospitalized After Being Shot Friday Morning In Paterson

PATERSON, NJ.- Detectives of the Passaic County Prosecutor’s Office and the Paterson Police Department are continuing the investigation into the circumstances surrounding a Friday morning after an East Orange, New Jersey, man arrived at the hospital requesting treatment for a gunshot wound.

     According to Passaic County Prosecutor Camelia M. Valdes, on Friday, October 25, 2024, at around 8:00 a.m., the Paterson Police Department was notified that a 23-year-old East Orange, New Jersey man had arrived at Saint Joseph’s University Medical Center requesting treatment for a non-life threatening gunshot wound.

Police Officers Find Shooting Victim

     Police Officers were dispatched to the Medical Center and located the man. After interviewing the victim, Police Officers determined that the shooting occurred in the area of Market and East 23rd Streets in the City of Paterson.

     The investigation remains active and ongoing. No arrests have been made as Detectives are continuing their search for the gunman and for a motive for the shooting.
