Glassboro Man Pleads Guilty To Gun Crime

ATLANTIC CITY, NJ.- On Friday, October 25, 2024, Forrest Graves, 36, of Glassboro, New Jersey, appeared in Atlantic County Superior Court and pleaded guilty before Superior Court Judge Pamela D’Arcy to second-degree Unlawful Possession of a Firearm in connection with an August 2023, Atlantic City incident.
In return for the guilty plea, the Atlantic County Prosecutor’s Office will recommend that Graves be sentenced to five years in New Jersey State Prison, with 42 months of parole ineligibility. As part of the plea agreement, Graves will forfeit the handgun.
According to Atlantic County Prosecutor William E. Reynolds, the guilty plea stems from an incident that began on August 17, 2023, when just shortly after 12:00 a.m., members of the Atlantic City Police Department responded to the Best of Life Park, Senior Village, located at 129 S. Virginia Avenue after receiving a report for a man who refused to leave the property and taking off his clothing.
Police Find Graves Naked And Lying On Ground
Upon arrival, Police Officers were met by a staff member who pointed out the man, later identified as Graves, naked and lying on the ground. Police Officers attempted to speak with Graves, but he did not respond. Graves continued to lay on the ground and refused to wake up. Police Officers requested an ambulance to treat Graves. After the ambulance arrived, as Police Officers were picking up his clothing off the ground, they discovered a black Ruger .380 caliber handgun in the pocket of black shorts. While Officers were securing the gun, they discovered it was loaded with hollow point ammunition.
After finding the handgun, Police Officers placed Graves under arrest and transported him to a nearby hospital for treatment before processing him on the charge.
During Friday’s hearing, Judge D’Arcy accepted Graves’ plea and scheduled sentencing for January 16, 2025. Graves remains detained in the Atlantic County Justice Center.
