Police Are Asking For Public’s Assistance In Locating Homicide Suspect

WASHINGTON, DC.- Metropolitan Police Detectives are seeking the public’s assistance in locating a 32-year-old man who has been charged with fatally gunning down a man during the early morning hours on February 12, 2024, in Northwest, D.C.

     According to D.C. Metropolitan Police Chief Pamela A. Smith, on Monday, February 12, 2024, members of the Metropolitan Police Department responded to reports of gunfire on the 900 Block of Shepherd Street in Northwest, D.C.

     Upon arrival, Police Officers and First Responders found a man, later identified as Jeremy Dewayne Johnson, 32, of Southeast, D.C., who had succumbed to a gunshot wound. D.C. Fire and Emergency Medical Services pronounced Mr. Johnson deceased at the scene.

Detectives Identify Anderson As Shooter

     During an ensuing investigation by Detectives of the D.C. Metropolitan Police Homicide Unit. Detectives were able to identify Orlando Anderson, 31, with no known address, as the shooter and the individual responsible for the death of Mr. Johnson. Charges have been filed against Mr.Anderson for second-degree Murder, and a D.C. Superior Court warrant has been issued.
