According to Cumberland County Prosecutor Jennifer Webb-McRae, on Saturday, October 26, 2024, shortly after 10:30 a.m., members of the Millville Police Department responded to 15 East Green Street in the City of Millville after receiving a 911 Emergency Call reporting two people having sustained gunshot wounds inside a motor vehicle.

Police Officers Find Victims

Upon arrival, Police Officers found a woman passenger, identified as Bonnie Hitchens, 41, of Bridgeton, New Jersey, unresponsive from multiple gunshot wounds, and the driver of the vehicle, identified as a 32-year-old Millville, New Jersey man suffering from a gunshot wound. Both were immediately transported to area hospitals, where Ms. Hitchens tragically succumbed to her injuries and was pronounced deceased a short time later at Inspira Medical Center in Vineland, New Jersey.

The man was transported to Cooper University Hospital, where he underwent emergency surgery and remains hospitalized in stable condition.

Investigation Leads To Suspects Identified

A swift-moving investigation by Detectives of the Cumberland County Prosecutor’s Office and the Millville Police Department was able to quickly identify Eric Bundy-Johnson, 34, of Vineland, New Jersey, and Francessca Delvalle, 34, of Vineland, New Jersey, as the suspects in the shooting.

Accordingly, Bundy-Johnson was formally charged with first-degree Murder; first-degree Attempted Murder; Conspiracy to Commit Murder; Certain Persons Not to Possess Weapons; and Unlawful Possession of a Weapon.

Delvalle was formally charged with first-degree Murder; Conspiracy to Commit Murder; Hindering Apprehension or Prosecution; and Tampering with Evidence.

Both Bundy-Johnson and Delvalle were processed on the charges and were remanded to the Cumberland County Jail pending future court proceedings in Cumberland County Superior Court in Bridgeton, New Jersey.

Although criminal charges have been filed, Detectives of the Cumberland County Prosecutor’s Office and the Millville Police Department continue their investigation.

“The rules of the court require us to include a statement that states: The charges outlined in this publication are merely accusations, and the defendant and or defendants are presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty beyond reasonable doubt.”
