HUNTINGTON, W.VA.- On Monday, October 28, 2024, Nehmiah Allen-Griggs, also known as “Newski,” 23, of Dallas, Georgia, appeared in U.S. District Court for the Southern District of West Virginia and pleaded guilty before U.S. District Judge Robert C. Chambers to Distribution of 50 Grams or More of Methamphetamine.

During his allocution on Monday, Allen-Griggs admitted to his role in a Drug Trafficking Organization that was responsible for distributing large quantities of methamphetamine and fentanyl throughout the Southern District of West Virginia. Following entering his guilty plea, Judge Chambers accepted the plea and scheduled sentencing for February 10, 2025, at which time Griggs faces a mandatory minimum of 10 years and up to life in federal prison, at least five years of supervised release, and a $10 million fine.

According To U.S. Attorney Will Thompson

According to UU.S. Attorney Will Thompson and documents filed in the court, on March 1, 2023, Allen-Griggs sold and distributed just around 1 pound of methamphetamine to a confidential informant during a controlled buy under the direction and observation of law enforcement investigators in a Huntington, West Virginia parking lot for $2,000.

On March 15, 2023, law enforcement investigators obtained and executed a court-authorized search warrant at a Highlawn Avenue residence in Huntington. During the search, investigators uncovered and seized large quantities of methamphetamine, fentanyl, a Landor Arms Cayon Arms 12-gauge shotgun, a Walther P22 .22-caliber pistol equipped with a silencer, a Kel-Teck .22-caliber pistol, and multiple rounds of ammunition.

Allen-Griggs further admitted during Monday’s hearing that he and others used the Highlawn Avenue residence to store, repackage, and distribute methamphetamine and fentanyl.

Allen-Griggs is one of 27 individuals indicted in a 53-count indictment charging the defendants with distributing methamphetamine and fentanyl transported from Detroit, Michigan, into Huntington and surrounding communities in the Southern District of West Virginia.

Allen-Griggs is also among 22 individuals who have pleaded guilty in the main case. One other of the 27 indicted individuals pleaded guilty to a related charge in a separate case. The indictment against the remaining defendants remains pending.
