CLEVELAND, NJ.- On Tuesday, October 29, 2024, Brian Patterson, 44, of Canton, Ohio, appeared in U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Ohio and was sentenced by U.S. District Court Judge J. Philip Calabrese to 312 months in federal prison, followed by ten years of supervised release after pleading guilty to multiple child sex crimes.
Patterson Pleads Guilty
According to Assistant U.S. Attorney Joseph P. Dangelo, Patterson pleaded guilty to Sexual Exploitation of Children; Receiving and Distribution of Visual Depictions of Children Engaged in Sexually Explicit Conduct; and Possession of Child Pornography.
In addition to the term of incarceration, Judge Calabrese ordered Patterson, upon release from prison, to register as a sex offender in the national database.
According to charging documents filed with the court, federal agents discovered that Patterson possessed 766 digital images of child pornography, including 50 digital images of prepubescent children under the age of twelve. The remaining digital images were of a child known to law enforcement who was unaware that she was secretly being recorded by a hidden camera.
The case was investigated by the Federal Bureau of Investigation Cleveland Division and the Canton Safe Streets Task Force.
