Kanawha County Man Sentenced To Federal Prison For Drug Crime

CHARLESTON, W.VA.- On Wednesday, October 30, 2024, Brandon Christopher Solomon, 30, of South Charleston, West Virginia, appeared in U.S. District Court for the Southern District of West Virginia and was sentenced by U.S. District Court Judge Joseph R. Goodwin to 235 months in federal prison followed by five years of supervised release for Distribution of 5 Grams or More of Methamphetamine and Fentanyl.
According to documents filed and statements made in court, on December 6, 2023, Solomon sold and distributed around 30 grams of methamphetamine and 10 grams of fentanyl to a confidential informant during a controlled by observed by law enforcement in the Kanawha City area of Charleston, West Virginia.
The Court found that Solomon had taken part in at least 16 illicit narcotics transactions and possessed a firearm multiple times during some of the transactions. Solomon made threats on two occasions to shoot individuals in connection with those transactions.
Judge Goodwin Noted Solomon’s Criminal History
In imposing the sentence, Judge Goodwin noted Solomon’s lengthy criminal history, which included two prior federal felony narcotics convictions. Solomon also committed an armed robbery in 2014 while on supervised release for those convictions.
U.S. Attorney Will Thompson commended the Federal Bureau of Investigation and the Metropolitan Drug Enforcement Network Team for Solomon’s arrest, conviction, and Wednesday’s federal prison sentence.
