D.C. Metro Detectives Searching For The Gunman In Friday’s Shooting Death

WASHINGTON, DC.- Metropolitan Police Detectives are continuing the search for the gunman who fatally gunned down a 28-year-old Southeast D.C. man early Friday morning on a Northeast D.C. Street.
According to D.C. Metropolitan Police Chief Pamela A. Smith, on Friday, November 1, 2024, just shortly before 4:00 a.m., members of the D.C. Metropolitan Police Department’s Sixth District responded to a report of gunfire on the 100 Block of 44th Street in Northeast, D.C.
Police Officers Find Victim Dead
Upon arrival, Police Officers found a man, later identified as Dwaun Simpson, 28, of Southeast, D.C., unresponsive from an apparent gunshot wound. DC Fire and Emergency Medical Services pronounced Mr. Simpson deceased at the scene.
The investigation remains active and ongoing. No arrests have been made as Detectives are continuing the investigation into the circumstances surrounding the shooting death of Mr. Simpson.
