JOHNSTOWN, PA.- On Friday, November 1, 2024, Keyshawn Savory, 24, of Johnstown, Pennsylvania, appeared in U.S. District Court for the Western District of Pennsylvania and pleaded guilty before U.S. District Court Judge Stephanie L. Haines to six counts of Illegal Purchase of a Firearm from a Federally Licensed Firearms Dealer.
According to U.S. Attorney Eric G. Olshan and charging documents filed with the court, on or about April 11, 2021, May 28, 2021, July 15, 2021, and August 1, 2021, in the Western District of Pennsylvania, Savory acted as a “Straw Purchaser” when purchasing firearms from several federally licensed firearms dealers, by stating that the firearms were being for himself, when in fact Savory was actually buying the firearms for other individuals.
Following his allocution during Friday’s hearing, Judge Haines accepted Savory’s guilty plea and scheduled sentencing for March 4, 2024, at which time Savory faces a maximum of 10 years in federal prison, a fine of up to $250,000, or both. The actual term of incarceration will be determined by a U.S. District Court Judge based on the seriousness of the offense and Savory’s past criminal history, if any.
