Wayne Woman Charged For Making False Bomb Threat To Medical Center

WAYNE, NJ.- Following a months-long investigation, on Tuesday, October 29, 2024, a 72-year-old Wayne, New Jersey, woman was taken into custody and released on a summons complaint after being charged in connection with calling in a bomb threat at a Teaneck, New Jersey Medical Center.

     According to Bergen County Prosecutor Mark Musella, on Saturday, August 17, 2024, members of the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office Intelligence & Counter-Terrorism Unit were notified by the Teaneck Police Department that an unknown caller using a “Caller ID” blocking their phone number, placed a phone call to Holy Name Medical Center alerting them that several bombs were going to be detonated inside the Medical Center.

     Following receiving the call, members of the Teaneck Police Department, Teaneck Fire Department, and the Bergen County Sheriff’s Office Bomb Squad, along with Medical Center Officials, searched the Medical Center’s premises to ensure the safety of the medical facility while members of the Bergen County Threat Management Unit and Detectives of the Prosecutor’s Office Cyber Crimes Unit initiated an investigation to trace the phone call.

Detectives Identify Suspect

     As a result of the investigation, Detectives of the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office identified the caller as Adele Ulrich, 72, of Wayne, New Jersey. Following the identification, on Tuesday, Ms. Ulrich was formally charged with second-degree False Public Alarm. After being processed on the charge, Ulrich was released on a summons pending her first appearance in Bergen County Superior Court in Hackensack, New Jersey which has been scheduled for November 13, 2024.

“The rules of the court require us to include a statement that states: The charges outlined in this publication are merely accusations, and the defendant and or defendants are presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty beyond reasonable doubt.”
