Police Searching For Suspect In Tuesday Night’s Southeast D.C. Shooting Death

WASHINGTON, DC.- Detectives of the D.C. Metropolitan Police Department are continuing their investigation into the circumstances surrounding Tuesday night’s fatal shooting of a 30-year-old Suitland, Maryland man, in Southeast D.C., as crime in the nation’s capital continues to spiral out of control.
According to D.C. Metropolitan Police Chief Pamela A. Smith, on Tuesday, November 5, 2024, just shortly before 11:00 p.m., members of the D.C. Metropolitan Police Department’s Seventh District responded to reports of gunfire on the 3300 Block of 6th Street in Southeast D.C.
Police Officers Find Victim
Upon arrival, Police Officers found a man, later identified as Keion Naylor, 30, of Suitland, Maryland, unresponsive from multiple gunshot wounds. Mr. Naylor was immediately transported to a nearby hospital, where, despite life-saving measures, Mr. Naylor succumbed to his injuries and was subsequently pronounced deceased a short time later.
The investigation remains active and ongoing. No arrests have been made as Detectives continue the search for the gunman and motive for the shooting death of Mr. Naylor.
