Three Charged Following Narcotics Investigation

Hudson County Narcotics Task Force Takes Down Narcotics Distribution Ring

JERSEY CITY, NJ.- On Wednesday, November 6, 2024, following a months-long investigation by the Hudson County Prosecutor’s Office Narcotics Task Force into illegal narcotics distribution in the Jersey City, New Jersey, and Newark, New Jersey area, three men were taken into custody and jailed after being charged with multiple narcotics offenses.

     According to Hudson County Prosecutor Esther Suarez, the three men were taken into custody following executing court-authorized search warrants at residences on Kensington Avenue in Jersey City and Hunterdon Street in Newark. During the searches, Detectives found and seized more than 100 grams of cocaine, more than 30 grams of heroin, and multiple prescription drugs.

Allen Faces Charges

      Errol Allen, 52, of Jersey City, New Jersey, was formally charged with first-degree Maintaining or Operating a Controlled Dangerous Substance Production Facility; second-degree Possession with the Intent to Distribute Cocaine; third-degree Possession with Intent to Distribute Cocaine Within 1,000 Feet of School Property; third-degree Possession of Heroin; and Possession with Intent to Distribute a Prescription Legend Drug. Allen was taken into custody on Kensington Avenue in Jersey City. Following being processed on the charges, Allen was remanded to the Hudson County Correctional Facility pending future court proceedings in Hudson County Superior Court.

Darby Faces Charges

     Alex Darby, 52, of Newark, New Jersey, was formally charged with first-degree Maintaining or Operating a Controlled Dangerous Substance Production Facility; second-degree Possession with the Intent to Distribute Cocaine; third-degree Possession with the Intent to Distribute Cocaine Within 1,000 Feet of School Property; second-degree Possession with the Intent to Distribute Heroin; third-degree Possession with the Intent to Distribute Heroin Within 1,000 Feet of School Property; and third-degree Hindering Apprehension or Prosecution. Darby was taken into custody on Hunterdon Street in Newark. Darby was processed on the charges and remanded to the Essex County Correctional Facility pending future court proceedings in Hudson County Superior Court.

Thomas Faces Charges

     Brandon Thomas, 40, of Branchburg, New Jersey, was formally charged with first-degree Maintaining or Operating a Controlled Dangerous Substance Production Facility; Possession with the Intent to Distribute Cocaine; third-degree Possession with the Intent to Distribute Cocaine Within 1,000 Feet of School Property; second-degree Possession with the Intent to Distribute Heroin; third-degree Possession with the Intent to Distribute Heroin Within 1,000 feet of School Property; and third-degree Hindering Apprehension or Prosecution. Thomas was taken into custody on Hunterdon Street in Newark. Thomas was processed on the charges and remanded to the Essex County Correctional Facility pending future court proceedings in Hudson County Superior Court.
