Staten Island Man Killed & Paterson Man Hospitalized In Paterson Shooting

PATERSON, NJ.- Passaic County authorities are continuing their investigation into the circumstances surrounding a double shooting that occurred early Tuesday morning in the City of Paterson that claimed the life of a Staten Island, New York, man and left a Paterson, New Jersey man hospitalized.

     According to Passaic County Prosecutor Camelia M. Valdes, on Tuesday, November 12, 2024, shortly after 3:45 a.m., members of the Paterson Police Department responded to multiple 911 Emergency Calls reporting a shooting in the area of Godwin Avenue and Rosa Parks Boulevard in the City.

Victims Drive To Hospital

     Upon arrival, Police Officers found evidence of a shooting crime scene, including shell casings. While on the scene, Patrol Officers were notified of a car accident in front of Saint Joseph’s University Medical Center. Additional Police Patrol units responded. Upon arrival, Police Officers learned that a 27-year-old Paterson, New Jersey, man had exited the vehicle and entered the hospital suffering from a gunshot wound and was admitted for treatment.

     A second occupant in the vehicle, identified as a 21-year-old Staten Island, New York man, inside the vehicle unresponsive from multiple gunshot wounds. The man was subsequently pronounced deceased.

     The initial investigation by responding Police Officers and Detectives quickly determined that the two men were shot in the area of Godwin Avenue and Rosa Parks Boulevard. Following being shot, both men drove to Saint Joseph’s University Medical Center.

     The investigation remains active and ongoing. No arrests have been made as Detectives continue the search for a suspect or suspects.
