Philadelphia Man Pleads Guilty To Drug Trafficking In Monongalia County

CLARKSBURG, W.VA.- Today, November 12, 2024, Rodney Johnson, 47, of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, appeared in U.S. District Court for the Northern District of West Virginia and pleaded guilty before U.S. Magistrate Judge Michael John Aloi to multiple federal narcotics offenses.
During today’s allocation, Johnson admitted to his role in a large-scale drug trafficking organization that was supplying large amounts of methamphetamine, fentanyl, and cocaine throughout the North Central West Virginia area.
According to the U.S. Attorney’s Office and documents filed with the district court, Johnson arranged and helped transport large quantities of illicit narcotics from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, to Morgantown, West Virginia. The drug organization utilized several properties in Monongalia County to store, repackage, and redistribute the methamphetamine, fentanyl, and cocaine.
The court will determine the date of Johnson’s sentencing. When sentenced, Johnson faces up to 20 years in federal prison for each of the seven counts that Johnson pleaded guilty to. The actual term of imprisonment will be determined by a U.S. District Court Judge based on the seriousness of the offenses and Johnson’s prior criminal history, if any.
