BRICK TOWNSHIP, NJ.- On Tuesday, November 12, 2024, Harry Bray, 37, of Manchester, New Jersey, appeared in Ocean County Superior Court and pleaded guilty before Superior Court Judge Kenneth T. Palmer to one count of Attempted Murder in connection with the stabbing of a woman during the evening hours of January 5, 2023, in Brick Township, New Jersey.

According to Ocean County Prosecutor Bradley D. Billhimer, in return for the guilty plea, the Ocean County Prosecutor’s Office will recommend that Bray be sentenced to 18 years in New Jersey State Prison subject to the No Early Release Act, which will require Bray to serve 85% of his custodial term before becoming eligible for parole.

After entering his guilty plea, Judge Palmer scheduled sentencing for January 17, 2025, in Ocean County Superior Court.

According to charging information filed in the Superior Court, on January 5, 2023, at around 5:30 p.m., an Officer of the Brick Township Police Department was conducting a routine area check off of Cherry Quay Road when the Police Officers noticed a motor vehicle with two flat tires in a parking lot area.

Upon exiting his patrol vehicle, the Police Officer found a woman on the ground near the vehicle, having sustained multiple stab wounds. The woman was transported to a nearby hospital, where she was treated for the wounds and subsequently released.

An ensuing investigation by the Ocean County Prosecutor’s Office Major Crimes Unit, the Brick Township Police Department, and the Ocean County Sheriff’s Office Crime Scene Investigation Unit was able to identify Bray as the suspect and the individual responsible for the stabbing of the woman.

A few hours later, on January 5, 2023, Bray was located and taken into custody by Detectives in Manchester Township, New Jersey, and formally charged. Bray was processed on the charges and was transported to the Ocean County Jail, where he has remained detained since that date.

When sentenced on January 17, 2025, Bray will be transferred to the custody of the New Jersey Department of Corrections.
