Detectives Continuing The Investigation Into An Early Friday Morning Crash

KEARNY, NJ.- A 33-year-old Jersey City, New Jersey woman charged with drunk driving may be facing additional charges as Detectives of Hudson County Regional Collision Investigation Unit are continuing their investigation into the circumstances surrounding an early Friday morning motor vehicle crash that has left a Pennsylvania man hospitalized in critical condition.
According to Hudson County Prosecutor Esther Suarez, on Friday, November 16, 2024, right around 12:30 a.m., members of the Kearny Police Department responded to reports of a serious motor vehicle crash on Newark-Jersey City Turnpike and Fish House Road in Kearny.
Upon arrival, Police Officers found a Jeep Compass that had struck a Ford F-150 pickup truck. The driver of the Ford pickup truck, a 56-year-old Pennsylvania man, sustained serious injuries as a result of the crash. The man was immediately transported to Jersey City Medical Center, where he remains listed in critical condition.
During the initial investigation, Kearny Police Officers arrested the driver of the Jeep Compass, Maria Molesky, 33, of Jersey City, and formally charged her with motor vehicle offenses for Driving While Intoxicated and Reckless Driving. Due to Ms. Molesky driving under the influence, resulting in serious injuries to the Pennsylvania man, additional charges could be filed.
