PITTSBURGH, PA.- On Wednesday, November 13, 2024, James Davis, 58, of Midland, Pennsylvania, appeared in U.S. District Court for the Western District of Pennsylvania and was sentenced by U.S. District Court Judge Robert J. Colville to 48 months in federal prison, to be followed by five years of supervised release for his previously entered guilty plea to Possession of Child Pornography.
In handing down the sentence on Wednesday, Judge Colville noted the seriousness of the offense and the extreme harm suffered by Davis’s victims. Judge Colville also ordered Davis to pay mandatory special assessments and for Davis to pay restitution to identified victims depicted in his crime.
According to the U.S. Attorney’s Office, earlier this year, Davis appeared in U.S. District Court and pleaded guilty to one count of possession of material depicting the sexual exploitation of a minor on June 11, 2021. During an investigation, law enforcement officers uncovered digital images and video files depicting nude and sexually explicit prepubescent and pubescent children.
The case was investigated by agents of the Federal Bureau of Investigation and was brought as part of Project Safe Child, a nationwide initiative launched in May 2006 by the U.S. Department of Justice to combat the growing epidemic of child sexual exploitation and abuse.
