Northwest D.C. Man Charged In October D.C. Shooting

WASHINGTON, DC.- Last Wednesday, Detectives arrested a 27-year-old Northwest, D.C. man and formally charged him in connection with the October 2, 2024, near shooting death of a man in Northwest, D.C.
According to D.C. Metropolitan Police Chief Pamela A. Smith, on Wednesday, October 2, 2024, shortly after 1:30 p.m., members of the D.C. Metropolitan Police Department’s First District, while on patrol, heard gunfire coming from the 1200 Block of North Capitol Street in Northwest, D.C.
Upon arrival, Police Officers found a man suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. The man was immediately transported by DC Fire and Emergency Services to a nearby hospital for treatment of critical injuries. The man has since recovered from nearly being killed.
Detectives Identify Bradford As The Shooter
   Following an ensuing investigation, Detectives identified Damon Bradford, 27, of Northwest, D.C., as the suspect, and a warrant was issued for his arrest. On Wednesday, November 13, 2024, just around 1:30 p.m., members of the Capitol Area Regional Fugitive Task Force located and arrested Bradford on a D.C. Superior Court warrant charging him with Assault with Intent to Kill While Armed.
