TOMS RIVER, NJ.- Ocean County Prosecutor Bradley D. Billhimer reported, that on Monday, November 18, 2024, Douglas Bollinger, 57, of Neptune City, New Jersey, appeared in Ocean County Superior Court and pleaded guilty before Superior Court Judge Dina M. Vicari to Endangering the Welfare of a Child in connection with incidents that occurred in 2019.

In return for the guilty plea, the Ocean County Prosecutor’s Office will recommend at the time of sentencing on January 10, 2025, that Bollinger be placed on Parole Supervision for Life and will be required to register as a sex offender subject to Megan’s Law Registration requirements. Judge Vicari also ordered that Bollinger have no contact with his victim and to permanently forfeit any and all future public employment in the State of New Jersey.

The guilty plea stems from an investigation conducted by the Ocean County Prosecutor’s Office Special Victims Unit. During the investigation, Detectives determined that over six months, beginning in February 2019 until August 2019, Bollinger, while employed as a teacher at the Ocean County Performing Arts Academy, engaged in inappropriate sexual contact with a student in both Point Pleasant Beach, New Jersey and Asbury Park, New Jersey.

On August 15, 2024, members of the U.S. Marshals Fugitive Task Force took Bollinger into custody at his home. Bollinger was initially lodged in the Ocean County Jail, but following a court hearing, he was released on bail monitoring conditions.
