Shippenville Man Sentenced For Sexual Exploitation Of A Child

PITTSBURGH, PA.- A 41-year-old Shippenville, Pennsylvania, child predator will be a senior citizen when he is finally released from federal prison after he was sentenced on Thursday for distributing digital images of child sexual abuse material over the internet to an undercover federal agent.
According to U.S. Attorney Eric G. Olshan, on Thursday, November 22, 2024, Thomas Joseph Manno, 41, of Shippenville, Pennsylvania, appeared in U.S. District Court for the Western District of Pennsylvania and was sentenced by U.S. District Court Judge Christy Criswell Wiegand to 262 months in federal prison, to be followed by ten years of supervised release on his conviction of the Sexual Exploitation of a Minor.
According to charging information filed with the court, in June 2022, Manno initiated and communicated online with a law enforcement officer working in an undercover capacity. During Manno’s online communications with the officer, Manno expressed his interest in the sexual abuse of children and sent the officer digital images depicting the sexual exploitation of children, including an image produced by Manno.
U.S. Attorney Olshan commended the Federal Bureau of Investigation, the Pennsylvania State Police, and the Montgomery County Texas Constable’s Office for the investigation that led to Manno’s successful prosecution.
