D.C. Metropolitan Police Searching For Suspects In August’s Southeast Robbery

WASHINGTON, DC.- On Monday, November 25, 2024, D.C. Metropolitan Police Chief Pamela A. Smith is asking for the Public’s assistance for help in identifying a group of suspects who are wanted in connection with the August 20, 2024, early morning Southeast, D.C. armed robbery of two people.

     On Tuesday, August 20, 2024, shortly after 2:00 a.m., two victims were walking along the 1200 Block of Sumner Road in Southeast, D.C., when they were approached and surrounded by a group of armed suspects. One of the suspects pointed a handgun at the back of the first victim’s head and demanded money and his personal belongings. 

     When the second victim attempted to flee, they were struck in the head with a handgun and knocked to the ground. 

     The suspects fled the scene after stealing money and property from both victims, including a set of keys to a car. The stolen motor vehicle was later recovered.

     The D.C. Metropolitan Police Department is currently offering a $10,000 reward, leading the capture, arrest, and conviction of these suspects.
