Buffalo Man Sentenced For Possession Of 28,000 Images Of Child Pornography

BUFFALO, NY.- On Friday, December 6, 2024, Patrick Malloy, 34, of Buffalo, New York, appeared in the U.S. District Court for the Western District of New York and was sentenced by Senior U.S. District Court Judge William M. Skretny to 24 months in federal prison for his conviction of Possession of Child Pornography.

     In addition to the term of imprisonment, Judge Skretny ordered Malloy to pay $48,000 in restitution to his identified victims and to register as a sex offender under the Sex Offender Registration and Notification Act.

     According to U.S. Attorney Trini E. Ross and charging documents filed with the District Court, on June 24, 2023, following an investigation into Malloy’s internet activities, federal agents executed a court-authorized search at Malloy’s Buffalo home. During the search, agents seized multiple electronic devices.

     Following a forensic examination of the device, investigators uncovered approximately 28,000 digital images and video files of child pornography, including images and videos depicting nude and sexually explicit prepubescent children, some engaged in sexually explicit conduct with adults.

     The sentencing is a result of an investigation by the Federal Bureau of Investigation Child Exploitation and Human Trafficking Task Force.
