Metropolitan Police Arrest Man Wanted For October 2024 Northeast Shooting

WASHINGTON, DC. On Thursday, D.C. Metropolitan Police Officers arrested a 31-year-old man wanted in connection with an October 2024 shooting incident in Northeast, D.C.
According to D.C. Metropolitan Police Chief Pamela A. Smith, during the early morning hour on Sunday, October 6, 2024, members of the D.C. Metropolitan Police Department’s First District responded to multiple reports of gunfire at the intersection of H and 7th Streets in Northeast, D.C.
Upon arrival, Police Officers found evidence of a shooting but were unable to locate a victim or victims. Following contacting area hospitals, Detectives determined that no one was injured in the shooting. During the ensuing investigation, Detectives were able to identify Darcell Warren, 25, as the shooter and a warrant was issued for his arrest.
On Thursday, December 5, 2024, Metropolitan Police Officers spotted Warren and arrested him pursuant to the D.C. Superior Court arrest warrant. Warren was formally charged with Endangerment with a Firearm and remanded to the D.C. Central Detention Facility pending future court proceedings in the District of Columbia Superior Court.
