CAMDEN, NJ.- A 76-year-old Pennsauken, New Jersey, man learned on Friday that he would most likely die in New Jersey State Prison after a Superior Court Judge sentenced him to over a decade for the repeated sexual assaults of a 10-year-old child that occurred in 2018.

On Friday, December 13, 2024, Joseph Jackson, 76, of Pennsauken, appeared in Camden County Superior Court and was sentenced by a Superior Court Judge to 14 years in State Prison subject to the No Early Release Act, which will require Jackson to serve 85% of his custodial term before becoming eligible for parole. Jackson, upon release from prison, will be subject to parole supervision for life and will be required to register as a sex offender.

Jackson Convicted In June By A Jury

According to Camden County Prosecutor Grace C. MacAulay, following a trial in  Camden County Superior Court on June 28, 2024, a jury found Jackson guilty of two counts of second-degree Sexual Assault involving a Victim Under the Age of Thirteen; and two counts of second-degree Endangering the Welfare of a Child.

During the trial, the jury heard testimony from the child that the sexual assaults occurred between April and December of 2018 at Jackson’s Pennsauken residence and between November and December of 2018 in Riverton, New Jersey. The sexual abuse began when the child was ten years old.
