FAIRVIEW, NJ.- On Tuesday, a 36-year-old Fairview, New Jersey man was taken into custody and jailed following being charged with multiple sex crimes committed on a preteen child.

According to Bergen County Prosecutor Mark Musella, on Friday, December 13, 2024, the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office Special Victims Unit was contacted by a case worker from the New Jersey Division of Child Protection and Permanency regarding the alleged sexual assault of a child that had occurred in the past. A joint investigation was launched.

After interviewing witnesses, including the victim, Detectives of the Bergen County Special Victims Unit and the Fairview Police Department determined that Servolo M. Morales De La Roca had repeatedly sexually assaulted the child, who was under the age of thirteen at the time of the assaults in Fairview, New Jersey.

Charges Filed Against Morales De La Roca

Accordingly, on Tuesday, December 18, 2024, Morales De La Roca was taken into custody in Fairview and formally charged with three counts of first-degree Aggravated Sexual Assault; and second-degree Endangering the Welfare of a Child.

Morales De La Roca was processed on the charges and was remanded to the Bergen County Jail pending future court proceedings in Bergen County Superior Court in Hackensack, New Jersey.

If convicted at trial, due to the age of the victim and the nature of the alleged crimes, Morales De La Roca faces from 25 years and up to life in New Jersey State Prison, parole supervision for life, and would be required to register as a sex offender under Megan’s Law requirements.

“The rules of the court require us to include a statement that states: The charges outlined in this publication are merely accusations, and the defendant and or defendants are presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty beyond reasonable doubt.”
