Hackensack Man Charged With Sexually Assaulting A Juvenile

HACKENSACK, NJ.- On Monday, following a swift-moving investigation by the Bergen County Special Victims Unit and the Hackensack Police Department, a 45-year-old Hackensack, New Jersey, man was taken into custody and jailed after being charged in connection with the alleged sexual assaults of a minor.
According to Bergen County Prosecutor Mark Musella, on Friday, December 13, 2024, the Hackensack Police Department contacted members of the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office Special Victims Unit regarding the alleged sexual assault of a child that had occurred in the past.
Investigation Uncovers Alleged Child Sex Crimes
An investigation by the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office and the Hackensack Police Department quickly determined that Jose F. Fajardo, 45, of Hackensack, sexually assaulted and endangered a minor child on multiple occasions in Hackensack, New Jersey.
Accordingly, on Monday, December 16, 2024, Fajardo was taken into custody at the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office in Paramus, New Jersey, and formally charged with second-degree Sexual Assault; two counts of second-degree Endangering the Welfare of a Child; and third-degree Criminal Sexual Contact.
Fajardo was processed on the charges and was remanded to the Bergen County Jail pending future court proceedings in Bergen County Superior Court in Hackensack, New Jersey.
