Monroe County Man Sentenced To Prison In Child Pornography Sting

SCRANTON, PA.- On Thursday, a 50-year-old East Stroudsburg, Pennsylvania, man found out he would be spending the next decade in federal prison after being sentenced for attempting to entice a child into sending sexually explicit pictures to him and sending nude pictures of himself to the child, only to learn when there knock at his door, the child was actually a federal agent.

     On Thursday, December 19, 2024, Kenneth Lesser, 50, of East Stroudsburg, appeared in the U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Pennsylvania and was sentenced by U.S. District Court Judge Julia K. Munley to 120 months in federal prison for his conviction of Attempted Online Enticement of a Minor.

According To The U.S. Attorney’s Office

     According to U.S. Attorney Gerard M. Karam and documents filed with the court, for two weeks, between July 17, 2023, and August 3, 2023, Lesser utilized the internet and an electronic device to attempt to persuade, entice, induce, and coerce, a person who he believed to be a 13-year-old child to engage in sexually explicit conduct and film that conduct, for the purpose of producing child pornography.

     During the two weeks, Lesser, on multiple occasions, sent nude and sexually explicit digital images of himself to the purported child.

     The investigation and case was brought as part of Project Safe Childhood, a nationwide initiative launched in May 2006 by the U.S. Department of Justice to combat the growing epidemic of child sexual exploitation and abuse,
