WILLINGBORO, NJ.- On Monday, December 16, 2024, following an investigation into internet child pornography activity, a 33-year-old Willingboro, New Jersey, man was taken into custody and charged for allegedly possessing over 1,000 digital images and video files of child sexual abuse material.
According to Burlington County Prosecutor LaChia L. Bradshaw, Marcus Lee, 33, of Willingboro, was taken into custody during the execution of a court-authorized search warrant at his Willingboro residence. During the search, Detectives of the Burlington County Prosecutor’s Office High Tech Crimes Unit seized electronic devices. A preliminary examination of Lee’s cellular phone uncovered multiple files containing the sexual exploitation and abuse of children.
Accordingly, Lee, after being taken into custody, was formally charged with one count of second-degree Possession of Child Pornography. Following being processed on the charge, Lee was released on bail monitoring conditions after making his first appearance in Burlington County Superior Court in Mount Holly, New Jersey.
CyberTip Leads To Investigation
The charge stems from an investigation that began when the Burlington County High Tech Crimes Unit received a CyberTip from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children regarding Lee’s online internet activities.
During the investigation, Detectives determined that Lee was accessing the internet to view, download, and possess over 1,000 digital images and video files depicting nude and sexually explicit prepubescent and pubescent children.
The Burlington County Prosecutor’s Office will prepare the evidence and the charge to be presented to a Burlington County Grand Jury for potential indictment.
