Buffalo Drug Dealer Heading Back To Prison For Selling Fentanyl

BUFFALO, NY.- A 30-year-old Buffalo, New York, man, and previously convicted cocaine dealer is once again heading back to federal prison for peddling deadly fentanyl and heroin throughout the Buffalo, New York region.
On Thursday, December 18, 2024, Alexis Javier Centeno-Baez, 30, of Buffalo, appeared in the U.S. District Court for the Western District of New York and was sentenced by U.S. District Court Judge Richard J. Arcara to 120 months in federal prison for his conviction on the federal charge of Possession with Intent to Distribute 40 Grams or More of Fentanyl.
According to U.S. Attorney Trini E. Ross and documents filed with the District Court, in March 2017, Centeno-Baez was sentenced by a U.S. District Court Judge to 63 months in federal prison after being convicted a trial of conspiracy to possess with intent to distribute and to distribute 500 grams or more of cocaine and attempted possession with intent to distribute 500 grams or more of cocaine. Centeno-Baez, at that time, was also sentenced to four years of supervised release.
U.S. Probation Officer Finds Drugs
On October 17, 2022, a U.S. Probation Officer conducted a random residence check at Centeno-Baez’z home. During the visit, Centeno-Baez was questioned about a brown paper bag in the kitchen. Centeno-Baez told the Officer that it contained heroin and also admitted to engaging in drug trafficking.
A subsequent search of the residence resulted in the seizure of a quantity of fentanyl, tramadol tablets, an amount of methamphetamine, a quantity of marijuana, digital scales, ammunition, and 46,550 in U.S. currency in denominations consistent with narcotics sales.
