Police Charge Two In Thursday Night Northwest, D.C. Armed Robbery

WASHINGTON, DC.- On Thursday, an 18-year-old District Heights, Maryland, man and a 17-year-old boy were taken into custody and charged in connection with the Thursday afternoon violent armed robbery in Northwest, D.C.
According to D.C. Metropolitan Police Chief Pamela A. Smith, on Thursday, December 19, 2024, at around 1:47 p.m., members of the D.C. Metropolitan Police Department’s Fourth District responded to the 4200 Block of Kansas Avenue in Northwest, D.C., after receiving a report of an armed robbery.
Upon arrival, Police Officers found the victim, who advised Responding Officers that two unknown suspects had approached the victim, pulled out a handgun, assaulted them, and demanded money and the victim’s property. The victim complied, and the suspects fled on foot.
D.C. Police Real Time Crime Center Identifies Suspects
A short time later, Police Officers spotted two suspects who matched the description provided by the Metropolitan Police Department’s Real Time Crime Center. Police Officers were able to stop and positively identify both suspects that committed the earlier armed robbery.
Accordingly, on Thursday, later in the afternoon, Police Officers charged Robert Henry, 18, of District Heights, Maryland, and a 17-year-old male with Armed Robbery. Both suspects were processed on the charges and were detained pending future court proceedings in the District of Columbia Superior Court.
