Metropolitan Police Charge Man In August 2024 Shooting Death

WASHINGTON, DC.- On Wednesday, D.C. Metropolitan Police apprehended a 46-year-old man wanted in connection with the August 23, 2024, Northwest, D.C. shooting death of a 25-year-old Waldorf, Maryland man.

     According to D.C. Metropolitan Police Chief Pamela A. Smith, on Friday, August 23, 2024, just minutes before 7:00 p.m., Northwest, D.C. Police Officers responded to reports of gunfire on the 1300 Block of Girard Street in Northwest, D.C.

Police Find Maryland Man Shot Multiple Times

     Upon arrival, Police Officers found a man, later identified as Martinez Robinso, 25, of Waldorf, Maryland, suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. Mr. Robinso was immediately transported to a nearby hospital, where, despite life-saving measures by doctors, Mr. Robinso succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced deceased.

     A subsequent investigation by D.C. Homicide Branch Detectives was able to identify Quateze Moore, 46, of Northwest, D.C., as the shooter and the individual responsible for the death of Mr. Robinso. Accordingly, a warrant was issued for his arrest.

     On Wednesday, January 1, 2024, Mr. Moore was located and taken into custody and charged pursuant to the outstanding D.C. Superior Court warrant charging him with one count of second-degree Murder While Armed.

     Moore was processed on the charge and was remanded to the D.C. Central Detention Facility pending future court proceedings in the District of Columbia Superior Court.
